Project 50 Recap (Days 2-10)

Day 2 (Feb 9):

Woke up a but later than yesterday but still better than my old schedule. Feeling tired but pushed through my morning routine. Need to work on my water intake, efficient time management, and healthy diet. I still don't eat on time. Need to stop looking at phone before bed

Day 3 (Feb 10):

Woke up exactly on 8 a.m. Energy levels much better today. Didn't have breakfast as usual. Out of grocery. Scared of cereal recently, doubting that if I'm lactose intolerant. Visited my post-secondary school and their residence. Got plenty of work done, but still procrastinating on certain things. Still working on a healthy diet.

Day 4 (Feb 11):

Woke up again on 8 AM on the dot. Got some solid sleep. Not struggling to get up at all. Still need to try to get up earlier. Did some work in the morning. Not as effective as yesterday and the day before. Did not go to gym. Procrastinating on certain things, but did use the time to solve other more time-sensitive problems.

Day 5 (Feb 12):

Well, shit. Completely messed up my sleep schedule last night. Got sucked into this interesting project. It was already way too late before I knew it. Barely made it to school on time to run a photo booth for photography club at lunch time. I still run the club. Today's basically been damage control. At least I'm being honest about it. Need to set a hard stop time for night activities, no matter how engaging they are. Tomorrow's a new day to get back on track.

Day 6 (Feb 13):

Snow day! ❄️ Mother Nature decided to give me a break. I took it. Let myself sleep in. No regrets. Made it a designated "me day" without the usual pressure of tasks or study goals hanging over my head. Sleep schedule's bouncing back from yesterday's mess-up. Still got that Beginner Driver Education course to go through... Need to stop procrastinating on that if I want to get my G2 anytime soon. Adding that to tomorrow's priority list. For real this time. Sometimes a forced pause (thanks, snowstorm) is exactly what you need to reset. But don't let the driver's ed course slip any further. 🚗

Day 7 (Feb 14):

All good. Busy day.

Day 8 (Feb 15):

All good. Busy day.

Day 9 (Feb 16):

Feeling a little light headed. Out of food. Huge snow storm outside. Didn't go out or to the gym. Busy day. Don't think I got good air quality in this room. Low on veggies, all came from USA, which I shouldn't buy. Struggling to find many Canadian veggies.

Day 10 (Feb 17):

Finally tackled the room mess that's been building up. The gym situation is... complicated? Tiring but also keeping me sane somehow. Funny how that works. Dust situation is getting ridiculous. Like, what changed? Last year I could go 1-2 weeks between cleanings. Now? Three days = thick layer of dust. Who ordered that? 🤷‍♂️ Saved up enough money, made an executive decision and bought a robot vacuum mop (thank god for discounts). An hour of thorough floor cleaning at least every 3 days was killing me. Lot of stuff on my mind. Lot of stuff on my plate. But at least soon I won't have to worry about the dust apocalypse anymore?

Recap (Days 2-10):

Highlights:

  • Day 1 was surprisingly good
  • Making some progress with organizing living space
  • The dust situation will finally (soon) be addressed

Struggles:

  • Sleep schedule went sideways mid-week
  • Snowstorm trapped me inside
  • Food ran low (note: need better emergency snack stash)
  • Gym routine is a love-hate relationship right now
  • Getting overwhelmed with all the plates I'm spinning (G2 license prep, general life stuff)

Reflection:

Started this challenge thinking "How hard can it be?" Well... turns out creating new habits while managing real life is trickier than expected. At least I'm still showing up, even if it's messy.

Looking Ahead:

Need to:

  • Get that sleep schedule locked down (for real this time)
  • Figure out a better balance with gym stress
  • Keep the momentum going, even when it's not perfect
